Surprise! All beauty products are 25% off today, 12/23, only at Package Free!

I get asked a lot about what I do for my skincare and makeup routines and how I keep them zero waste, so I thought I’d share my daily routine and the products I use to get ready for the day. Check out my routine and the products I use below:

I want to address that most beauty products are not perfect. Right now, in order to get totally package free makeup, you’d probably have to make it all yourself. The beauty industry is still snailing behind other industries when it comes to packaging and waste, so the brands I’m using aren’t necessarily perfect, but they are the best options that I have right now. I focus on products that come in 100% recyclable or refillable packaging that use organic and cruelty-free ingredients.

Below are all the products I mentioned in the video and why I love them.

Meow Meow Tweet Tea Tree Charcoal Facial Bar Soap

The first thing that I do in the morning is wash my face with a handmade, activated charcoal and tea tree facial bar soap by one of my favorite brands, Meow Meow Tweet. The combination of charcoal and tea tree helps to remove impurities and prevent breakouts, and because I can buy it without packaging at Package Free Shop, it’s 100% zero waste.

Meow Meow Tweet Organic Face Oil

Once my face is all fresh and clean, I moisturize with just a few drops of Meow Meow Tweet (can you tell I love this brand?) Face Oil. It’s jam-packed with nutrient-dense organic and vegan ingredients like hemp seed oil, jojoba oil and carrot seed oil, and helps to keep my complexion bright. I also love that I can refill it at Package Free Shop in the bulk section so there’s no need to ever buy a new bottle!

Vapour Organic Beauty Soft-Focus Foundation

For the first step of my daily makeup routine, I’ll start by applying some Vapour Organic Beauty foundation to my face. I don’t use any type of applicator sponge or brush, I just squeeze some onto the tip of my finger and rub it into my skin. The reason I love this brand is because not only are their ingredients organic and cruelty-free, and their products are made with wind-power (so cool!) all of their packaging is 100% recyclable.

Meow Meow Tweet Rosemary Eucalyptus Vegan Lip Balm

Once my foundation is applied, before adding on any other makeup, I moisturize my lips and skin using Meow Meow Tweet’s Rosemary Eucalyptus lip balm. As you can see from the photo above, I take this product with me everywhere and absolutely love it. I start by dapping a little on my finger and applying to my upper cheekbones (as a base highlighter), then I’ll moisturize my lips with it.

Kjaer Weis Cream Blush

Next, I’ll add some color to my cheeks with Kjaer Weis’s Cream Blush in Blossoming or Lovely. I love this brand and particular product because it’s refillable. You buy the gorgeous metal compact once, and simply buy product refills that come sent to you in 100% recyclable paper packaging rather than buying a whole new compact each time. It’s brilliant! I just use my finger to apply a small amount to my cheeks.

Kjaer Weis Cream Blush Illuminator

After applying blush, to give me a healthy, dewy glow, I’ll use some Kjear Weis refillable illuminator in Radiance. I’ll put some on my finger and simply dab along my cheekbones, in the inner corners of my eyes around my tear ducts to make them look brighter and just above and below my brow bone.

Vapour Organic Beauty Siren Lipstick or Kjaer Weis Lip Tint

For my everyday look, I normally don’t wear lip color, but if I’m going out at night, have an on-camera interview, or am just feeling extra fancy, I’ll wear some Vapour Organic Siren Lipstick in Hint or the Kjaer Weis Lip Tint in Dream State! I like a lip color that’s just slightly darker than the natural shade of my lips, and this color is so pretty. Once again, I love these brands because they use organic and cruelty-free ingredients, and all of their packaging is 100% recyclable which can be very difficult to find in a lipstick.

Recycled Bamboo Toothbrush

I learned this last trick from my mom who’s a Southern Belle with big, beautiful, Brooke Shield’s brows that she’s passed on to me (thanks mom!). Growing up, she’d use an old toothbrush to brush her eyebrows and set them in place. I take one of my old bamboo toothbrushes, add a little water to the bristles, and give my brows a good grooming to get them shaped just how I like them.

Organic Cotton Cosmetic Rounds

To remove my makeup at the end of the day, or to fix any makeup mishaps or wipe some off when I’ve maybe gone a little cream blush-crazy, I use reusable organic cotton rounds. They’re the perfect alternative to using cotton balls, cotton swaps, and single-use cotton rounds. Use them with organic coconut or olive oil to remove makeup, and simply throw them in the wash when they’re dirty.

  1. There’s a makeup remover i swear by called Face Halo! They’re little microfiber rounds that you just add water to and they work like magic, even with fuller face makeup! It’s saved me so much plastic waste since i don’t have to buy a liquid makeup remover or premade towelettes!

  2. Giiirrl. This has been a long time coming. I’ve gone ahead and bought everything and hope they love my skin as much. Finding zero waste makeup has been the hardest and this is so so helpful. Here’s to having radiant skin without all the waste.
