If you’re someone who likes to shave, here are more sustainable options to help you shave single use plastics out of your grooming routine…

The Razor

Ditch disposables and opt for reusable, safety razors. While the upfront cost of these may be more than what you’re used to, they’re made of durable stainless steel, which means that one will last you forever. Over the course of time, investing in a safety razor will save you lots of money, trust me.

When it comes to safety razors, there are a few options—butterfly razors, 3-Piece razors, and my personal favorite, the Pivoting Head razor, which looks and feels like a non-reusable razor and has three blades instead of one. We sell all three at Package Free, and it boils down to personal preference!

The Blades

The best part of reusable, safety razors is that they eliminate the need to purchase new, plastic razor heads every time your blades dull. Instead, you can easily pop in a replacement, stainless steel blade and shave away!

When your blades become dull, be sure to check with your not municipal recycling program because not all companies accept used razor blades. Luckily, the Albatross have developed a used blade take back program for all Double Edged safety razor blades! Simply collect your used blades in the envelope they come in when you buy Albatross replacement blades. When you’ve gone through a pack of blades, seal that envelope and insert it into any other envelope at least 3.5 X 5 large (USPS minimum) and send to: Albatross Designs, PO Box 2254, Berkeley, CA 94702 🤩 From there, Albatross upcycles used shaving blades into cutlery, bike racks, park benches, and more (how cool is that?!)
