It is definitely true. I think a lot of people don't shop for organic food because of the misconception that it is so extremely overpriced. In reality, it comes down to smart shopping. For example, buying a bunch of organic spinach at my market is 2.99 whereas pre-washed organic spinach at the same market is over five dollars, the same goes for sugar, flower, granola, fruit, nuts, pasta, rice. Buying in bulk will result in lower priced shopping. That is how I can get as much food as I can for a low price. I would definitely suggest going to your store and bringing your own jars (don't forget to write down the tare!) and buy unpackaged vegetables and fruit, and unpackaged, bulk grocery items. 🙂
