So there I was thinking I wish I had a convenient way to make smoothies before work that didn’t require a ton of washing to come home to… and then I learned this. YOU CAN USE A MASON JAR IN PLACE OF THE CONTAINER THAT THE BLENDER COMES WITH.

MIND. BLOWN.

All you have to do is attach the mason jar to the base of the blender like you would the normal container, and there you go! Plus then all you have to wash is the blade afterwards which takes maybe 5 seconds!

I love learning.

  1. Have you had any problems with the cup shattering? I guess you recently started using this so maybe you haven't had any problems yet. I saw it on pinterest but after some googling, realized just how many people had the cups break on them. Pressure builds up and since the glass isn't as thick as the glass made specifically for the blenders, it causes the glass to shatter. Be careful….

    1. Hi Cynthia,

I haven't had any problems with the mason jar shattering. They are SUPER strong and unless you put a ton of ice or something I don't see it shattering, but yes, totally agree with you on the being careful part – thanks for your comment! πŸ™‚

  2. Wow! I have a Nutribullet, but I would love not having to use the plastic cups to avoid hazardous toxins. Is it somehow possible to use a glass jar with a Nutribullet?

    1. Hi Daan,

I have NO idea if you can use the glass jar with a nutribullet. I don't have one, but I would love for you to check it out and report back!

    2. Hi Lauren,

Thanks, I will see I can find it out. πŸ™‚ If so, I will report it back to you

      Daan

    3. Hi Lauren,

I cannot find out it's possible in some way. Nutribullet gave me the standard answer that they send the option for a glass cup to their marketing department..

      Have a great day

    4. Hi Daan,

Thanks for letting me know! I made my smoothie today using a mason jar, worked perfectly πŸ™‚ I guess I will have to cross the glass breaking bridge when and (if) I get there!

      Thanks again!

  3. Hi Lauren,

That's great πŸ™‚ What doe you mean with the glass breaking bridge and do you still use the Cuisinart?

    Kindly,
    Daan

    1. Hi Daan,

I mean I will figure out how to deal with the glass breaking if it happens, but I don't think it will.

I use the base of the cuisinart but not the original glass blender.

      Thanks!

  4. I hope you don't ever have to fill out a questionnaire from a Cancer hospital (I helped both my parents and my husband fill out theirs.) In this questionnaire it asks such questions as "Do you prepare food in plastic containers of any type? Do you heat food in plastic containers in the microwave or conventional oven? Do you every store food in plastic containers or wraps?" Plastics to the Cancer researchers means ANY type of material that is NOT wood, metal or glass, or containers that are lined with plastic such as Teflon or silicone. Scary stuff! All those years of using Tupperware.

    1. That's really scary. I used tupperware for most of my life, I hope that since I don't use it anymore some of the effects of plastic will go away over time.

  5. I would hope so, but who knows. There are so many things out there that are dangerous to us and future generations. I try to just think back to what my Grandma used back in the 30's and 40's, like glass jars or crocks, before they had so much plastic stuff. She lived to be 98 and died of natural causes.

  6. I have looked for this alternative for literally years! For some reason your info has not come up before when I search for "glass jar replacements for Nutribullet" but this morning it did. I already have all of the components for this as well as a Vitamix and a Nutribullet and their plastic mixing jars. My "old" blender is new again! Am permanently retiring those 2 machines.
